Was your swimmer disqualified?
Has someone asked you “How come we have to do it that way?”
Be well-educated in the area of what is legal during a meet!
Attend the GKAISA Officials Clinic this year and benefit your family’s involvement on the Flying Dolphins Swim Team.
By attending, you will:
- Be instructed on rules and techniques
- See on video and through demonstration those minor differences which make a flip-turn correct or illegal
- Observe what is a legal and truly competitive breaststroke or butterfly.
Cause your time at the meets to be so much more enjoyable by benefiting your child in their understanding of why
certain things they do are right or wrong in any given stroke.
In addition, if you desire, you could become one of the much needed Stroke and Turn substitutes (by taking an open-book on-line test at your leisure).
We have a few qualified and experienced family members who are certified to be Stroke and Turn Judges already this year, but they would also like the opportunity to take a break from judging during their child's race (or are needed at other pertinent jobs) – you could be such a big help in this way.
Consider learning the do’s and don’ts of racing and become part of the volunteer judges who help all our swimmers be so great at what they do!
Stroke & Turn truly is the BEST volunteer job on the deck of the swimming pool during a meet!
(The more S&T’s we have, the less time each person is on duty per meet.)
Each team must have a minimum of four S&T's per meet.
Grab another parent and join us at our GKAISA Officials Certification Clinic to learn more about the sport your child is involved in this summer.
You’ll be glad you did!!!
