As the relay cards are delivered to the Clerk of Course Tent, this worker will check them off on the Relay Card Checklist provided by the Computer Chair. The relay cards are then sorted by event, heat, and lane. The cards are paper clipped by heat, rubber-banded by event, and placed in the file folder box until needed by the YELLER.

The Seaters work under the Clerk of Course tent. They take the swimmers after the YELLER gets them in order and lead them to the correct seat. They constantly must ask swimmer’s name and compare it to the heat sheet, especially for relays, to insure that the swimmers are sitting in the correct seat by heat and lane.
EVENT BOARD WORKER
This position works under the Clerk of Course tent. As events are called by the ANNOUNCER, the worker marks on a large whiteboard the announcement. Leave a cup in an empty chair where there is a “SCRATCH” or “NO SHOW”. Use relay cards carried by swimmers to the pool to check names of relay swimmers and be sure the right relay team steps up. Head spotter collects relay cards and stores in box at pool side. There are two HEAD SPOTTERS for Sunday, since swimmers use both the starting block side and street side of the pool.
ASSISTANT SPOTTER
As the HEAD SPOTTER checks only the front row for correct swimmers, the ASSISTANT SPOTTER are responsible for all the rows behind the first row, confirming the swimmers are in the correct chairs. A cup is used to occupy an empty lane or no show and moved up as swimmers move closer to the starting blocks. The ASSISTANT SPOTTER is responsible for three lanes on Saturday and two lanes on Sunday.
