Volume 2, Issue 6 - May 12, 2010 Senior Coaches NamedPlease welcome the Flying Dolphin senior coaches to the team this summer.
Season Kickoff May 25 The 2010 season kickoff is approaching quickly. We will get together at Springbrook Pool at 7pm on Tuesday, May 25 to open the season. We will meet briefly to discuss the season, meet the coaches and more. After that, parents will learn more on signing up for meets, volunteering and ordering merchandise. Also, swimmers will receive their team gift. However, only those registered with the team at Parks and Rec will get the gift. The deadline to sign up is June 4. (swimmers signing up after the opening kickoff will also receive a gift at a later date) Don’t forget, everyone will be able to swim in Springbrook, so we’ll see you then. First Merchandise Deadline May 27 The first deadline to order merchandise is Thursday, May 27. You can visit the Parents page of our website to learn more and print off an order form. Parent Volunteer Training Dates Training dates have been set for our parent volunteers. Every parent is required to work at least two shifts during the Dolphin season. Volunteering to work is crucial to running our meets effectively and quickly. To get you started, several dates and times have been scheduled to help train you on the various jobs. For each shift you work, you’ll receive a Dolphin Dollar to give your swimmer, which can be used for a Dolphin gift, or used to purchase in-stock Dolphin merchandise. Click for a complete training schedule. Ride the Yellow Bus to a Meet This year, the Dolphins will visit Jefferson City on June 22 for a dual meet. Since the meet may be scheduled to start earlier, the Dolphin Board is looking at making available a school bus or two to transport children to the swim meet. Then, parents would be able to get to the pool at their leisure to watch the meet. If your swimmers would like to take the bus to Jefferson City with the team and coaches, please send an email expressing your interest. |
