Flying Dolphin Season Set to Begin
You will soon see the Parks and Rec flyer in the newspaper about registration for the upcoming season. Please note the following changes for 2010:
- The registration fee will be increasing. The first swimmer will be $85 and each sibling will be $70.
- This year, swimmers will be charged an $8 entry fee for City Meet. This will be used to cover the escalating costs of no-shows and scratches. There continues to be no other charge for the other swim meets, including SMI. More information on when this fee will be collected will be shared soon.
- The team will strictly adhere to swimmers being required to swim 25 yards non-stop. Please be sure your swimmers are able to do this before signing them up for the team.
- There will be a deadline to join the team this year. All swimmers must register by June 4.
Coaching Staff Update
The Board has received more than 20 applications for all open coaching positions. Interviews will begin this month and coaches will be named the first couple weeks of March.
SMI Committee Forming
SMI Meet Director and Board Vice President Denise Gardner will be forming an SMI Committee. This committee will focus on our two-day, only fundraising meet of the year. It’s going to be a ‘record’ meet this year, so if you are interested in joining this committee, please send an email to Denise.
April and May Preseason Swims
There will be preseason swims again this year at Maryville College in April and May. Information will be shared in March. |
