Rain Holds Off for Closing Party
What a season!  While it looked like the closing party was going to be drenched out, the clouds let up long enough for us to get together one last time, celebrate the season and recognize the Flying Dolphins.

The board would like to thank again all our swimmers, coaches, and especially our parents. We cannot say it enough… the season is not successful if we don’t have volunteers to help in every way possible.  And MAFD has the greatest parents there are.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Congratulations to Brittany Young for winning the Preston Scholarship. Brittany will be attending Pellissippi State in the fall and begin work towards her teaching degree.

Also, congratulations to Dave Thompson for winning the Jackie Stroh award.  The Jackie Stroh award goes to the parent who the board believes has gone above and beyond during the season to support the Dolphins. Dave will be joining the Dolphin board in 2010 as Equipment Chair.

And finally, we recognized Coach Keith for his outstanding service to the Dolphins for not only this season, but since 2005.  Coach Keith has grown this team to where it is now, and the Dolphins would not be the successful team they are without him.  Going forward, the Dolphin awards, which Coach Keith began early in his coaching career, will be renamed the Keith Lambert Dolphin Awards.  We wish Coach Keith and his family the best of luck in the future and hope to see him soon.

Freeny Shows Annual Video
We want to thank Lynn Freeny for all his hard work in shooting pictures this past season and for composing the season ending video. We have had many questions about whether the video is available for sale or on the website. Unfortunately, we cannot sell the video. However, all the photos can be found on Lynn’s photobucket.

Planning for the 2010 Season
While the swim season is over, the board will start working diligently to get ready for a better 2010 season starting in September.  If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments for the board, please send us an email. We’ll see everyone next year!
